Praise God to all you servants of God. We continue to give thanks to God for you and your families. We rejoice and cast our burdens onto Him that has and always sustains you and us. May our Lord Jesus Christ be praised now and forever more. Several things continue to happen in Kampala and in the communities where God sends us. It is such a privilege to share with you our journey, our Testimonies.

Above (Joseph Irwaat and his wife in hospital, a few days after the attack)

We would first of all thank you all for your prayers, support and concern at the time when one of our church leaders, Joseph Irwaat was attacked and beaten almost to death on 16th September last year. We thank all of you who gave financially and prayed for him. Apparently, Joseph will not have to undergo the surgery that had previously been prescribed by his doctor. Joseph was recently in the surgeon’s office for a medical checkup. He was told that surgery was ruled out because the physiotherapy that he has been undergoing has aligned his backbone to normal. We give thanks and praise God Almighty for this healing. We would to want to bring to your notice that the $2000 that you all sent has been put aside in our Advancement Church Account. We thank you for giving us a hand during the hard and painful times that Joseph, his family and church went through.

We rejoice and we are glad for Sam Lubwama who has taken up leadership in teaching the Wakiso Youth Bible Study group in Wakiso every Sunday on a weekly basis. At any of these fellowship gatherings, over sixteen youth attend, we praise God for that.

On 20th March 2011 our leaders, Okello Patrick together with Francis Nsubuga and Godfrey Mbazira went to Wakiso to have the Welcome to the family class (WTFC) taught. The WTFC is an Evangelistic initiative of the Kampala Ministry to help introduce new believers into the body and teachings of Christ. The vision, goal, expectations, doctrine and all the Foundational teachings of the church are embedded in this class. Having this class is very instrumental in paving way for the new believers to get baptized after an ambitious follow up of the believers is done. Right now, follow up is being done for those who went through the class. We prayerfully anticipate several to get baptized into Christ soon.

The Kampala Church of Christ Chariot Fundraiser (Ministry Van fundraiser), is going at a slow but steady pace. We have been ideally creative in selling some eggs from our Chicken Project at the KCC premises. A few people have responded in buying trays of eggs towards raising funds for the van. However, we are looking outside of our boundaries to tap the open market in other places. Please continue in prayer for these efforts. May 1st 2011, is a date that has been put aside as a day of a collective fundraising effort of the members and friends of the Kampala Ministry. Join with us in prayer for God to use this day powerfully for his glory.

On April 24th 2011, the Kampala Church had an Easter worship service. We were blessed to host the Wakiso Church plant project and the Wabigalo Church of Christ church plant members come and celebrate with us the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Wakiso Church plant project youth presided over the worship service in song. The Wabigalo Sunday school performed an emotional and touching skit of the crucifixion of Jesus. It was a great day to celebrate together our Risen Lord.

One of our former missionaries in Kampala, Dr Ellen Little bought a personal piece of land in a Kampala suburb in Kira before she left for the United States. Several years back, Ellen had told us to find some  use of the land to benefit the church community. For quite some time now, the leadership has been thinking and discussing about how best the land could be put into use. Recently a group of some of the Kampala Ministry leaders went off on a physical inspection of the land and brain storm about ideas of what possibly can be grown on the land. The plan for now is to plant either cassava or potatoes on that piece of land. The idea is later to use this food to feed some of our needy and poor members or communities. Please pray for God to use this project for His own purposes.  May God bless and keep you all for His sake.
