12/08/2010 Vol. 20
“Oh God you are my God, and I will ever praise you, and I will seek you in the morning and I will learn to walk in your ways, and step by step you lead me lord and I will ever praise you”. After three months of intense physical and emotional pain, bed ridden, worry, physical incapability, grief in the home and church family, Joseph Irwaat on 12/28/2010 was finally able to come to church for the first time ever since that dreadful day of 09/16/2010 when he was attacked and beaten up severely by thugs. Four others were attacked on the same day, two died. Joseph, got head and neck injuries coupled with linear fractures on his skull. Joseph testified about the power of God and sang the above song as the whole church joined in unison. He continues to be under medical observation. His doctor had recently advised surgery to be done on his spine. After an enquiry with another Neuro Surgeon, he was told to try out physiotherapy for two weeks and thereafter asses the development of his situation. The two weeks of physiotherapy elapsed a few days ago and we are glad to mention that he can now, walk, talk and turn his neck, all this was difficult for him before the physiotherapy. The surgeon examined him yesterday and the Therapy has been extended for another two Months . Ours is a step of faith to praise and honor God for the healing Joseph has received. We thank God as well for having provided for Joseph and his family during this hard time in their home. We thank you for the prayers, support and contributions towards his medical expenses. May God be praised forever, for in Him a miracle has unfolded before our very own eyes.

Praises are lifted up to God for the growth of the Wakiso Goat Project. This project was started a few months ago. So far thirty goats have been given out to the poor in Wakiso. More goats shall be given out soon. We are thankful for the funds that were provided by the Christian Relief Fund to start this project. We give praise to God because we now have a weekly Bible Study fellowship of the goat beneficiaries. In addition we have a youth ministry that meets every Sunday for fellowship in Wakiso. The Wakiso youth group is currently doing practice to come and participate alongside the Kampala church of Christ worship team to sing Christmas carols on the 19th of December. This will also be the date when we shall have the annual Christmas dinner at the Kampala Church. It will be a fun day to have communion and a meal together with this new family in our fellowship.
The other thriving ministry that is happening in Wakiso is the Sunday school ministry. One of the goat beneficiaries is a former teacher and has devoted her time to teach this Sunday school. On 5th December, the Kampala church invited over three of the wakiso Sunday school volunteers for a one day Sunday school training course. Abel Agaba and Sheba Kalamagonza both of whom teach Sunday school in the Kampala ministry designed a Sunday school teaching module for the Wakiso volunteer teachers.

On the same day, the Kampala church held its Annual General Meeting for the Christian Relief Fund (CRF) Program children, their guardians and parents. This year, some of the children that are over eighteen years have been dropped off from the program. We have several other children on the waiting list to be added onto the program. Please pray for God to touch the hearts of new sponsors to help these children. To date, we have ninety three children in the program. Two CRF kids got baptized on this day; we give praise to God for this new birth into Christ and for the other kids that were witnesses to this birth. Please pray for Alexanderia and Marion in this new walk with Jesus Christ in their journey of life.
If you have been following the Living Rays News letter, you may remember the girl who fell victim of the terrorist bomb blasts in Kampala several months back. Lyida received head injuries. She had surgery done on her head. She still has a bomb fragment in her brain. Before the attack, Lydia had just completed her final University Exams in Human Resource. She was graduated on 11/05/2010. Lydia is now a University Degree holder despite her condition. We praise God for that and thank you all for your prayers for Lydia. Lydia is a daughter to Godfrey Mbazira, one of our leaders and Evangelists in Wakiso who has helped a lot in having the KCC GoatProject kick off and in addition to the church planting movement in Wakiso. Lydia has improved greatly. She continues to be on medication though. Continue to pray for God’s providence for the Mbazria’s especially for the much needed expensive medicines for Lydia.
