One of the highlights of this year has been the just concluded New Testament Churches of Christ (NTCC) from September 7th to 9th 2012. We had over three hundred people participate from not only Churches of Christ in Uganda but from Rwanda, Kenya, Congo and America. The Theme for the meeting was from Colossians 3:17. It was a timely and relevant Theme for the Churches. The Guest speaker was Steve Kenney. Steve is the Senior Pulpit Minister of North Central Church of Christ in Indianapolis. His wife Leslie Kenney also spoke to the women during the meeting. Our Church plants of Wakiso, Kasangati, Wabigalo and Ganda were among those that participated in the meeting.

We had visitors from North Central Church of Christ in Indianapolis from 8/27/12 to 9/10/12. Steve
Kenney, Leslie Kenney, Nancy Harbron and Jim Risk. Among the blessings for the visit was for Steve to preside as Guest speaker for the NTCC National meeting. The visitors were taken to visit and teach in several of our communities and church plants of Wakiso, Wabigalo and Ganda. Jim Risk talked to several leaders and in the communities about Agriculture. We also registered a number of baptisms that were done in the communities of Ganda and Wakiso during the Team’s visit in Kampala. over Three hundred attended.

A few Months back, we hinted on the birth of a new Ministry “Virtuous Woman” (VM). The ministry has been born out of a need to address several issues pertaining to young women in the body of Christ at Kampala Church of Christ (KCC). Ruth Sebagala and a few other young ladies have offered their time and leadership to help establish this ministry at KCC. Rose Rudasingwa, a long time member of KCC, a mother and married with three children was recently ear marked by the VM ministry to work alongside the young women as an overseer over the group. We praise God for the initial stages of work and time invested in this Ministry. We envision the power of God to be manifested in the lives of the young women of KCC as this ministry gains ground in the life of the Kampala Ministry.

We would want to give glory to God about the thriving Prayer Ministry fellowship that takes place every Sunday after the main worship service. It has continued to be a tradition at KCC to always call out people that may need to share and be prayed for at the close of the worship service. Several leaders have always been available to pray for those in need. We would want to especially thank God and applaud the call that God has bestowed on both Mr and Mrs John Sakwah. John and Robinah have over the years been available to not only listen but to pray for and with several of our members. God is good!

As we give out an update about the thriving Prayer Ministry, we would want to use this opportunity to share with you all the power of God as we live to testify about the power of prayer in our lives in the body of Christ at KCC. Esther Tushabe is a member at Kampala Church of Christ. Married and a mother of four lovely children. Her children are very committed to the church and church activities. A year back she started having complications with her health. Her health started getting even worse in the middle of this year. Due to the seriousness of her health, her husband abandoned her. Her mother in law found it in her to take care of Esther. She now lives at her mother in law’s house. Surgery was done on her in the Month of August. She is very frail and weak. The church and some of the women of hope ladies have been there to provide her comfort, prayer and support. A few days back, we went to visit Esther. Her plea for God was to provide her children with school fees to go back to school. We would want to praise God because the very next day, God provided all the school fees for her two youngest children Nicholas Agaba and Blessing. What a mighty God we serve. The God that has provided for her children to go to school is the same God that will heal her and bring back her husband. Please continue in prayer for Esther and several others in similar situations elsewhere.

The Better Living Resource Library has been an outreach ministry that has and continues to bless people in the city of Kampala. However, with a rich variety of Books, some are not necessarily relevant to our needs and the community. On the recent concluded visit, the North Central Team helped stock a number of Books in the library. Most of the Books that were stocked are on Animal and Crop Agriculture. As the Kampala Ministry embraces the desire to start projects, the library will be an immense source of information as more of such Books are shelved in the Library. Please pray for God to provide more relevant Books. We would want to end with a celebration of the eighteen souls that were baptized into Christ during the North Central Team’s visit. Steve helped baptize eighteen souls into Christ in the communities of Ganda and Wakiso. Thirteen were baptized in Ganda and five in Wakiso on 9/4/12 and 9/15/12 respectively. We praise God for the new entrants into the family and Kingdom of God. God is good! May the good Lord bless and keep you all always!!
